Johan Oviedo fails to impress yet again on Friday

by Lucas Spence | Pirates Correspondent | Fri, Jun 11th 5:54pm EDT

Johan Oviedo lasted just 4 1/3 innings on Friday afternoon, giving up five hits, a walk, and four earned runs in a no-decision against the Cubs.

Fantasy Impact:

Oviedo added five strikeouts and was leading 5-1 heading into the fifth inning, having only allowed a solo home run to Joc Pederson, before unraveling in the fifth and allowing three more runs to score. The right-hander now owns an unimpressive 5.72 ERA and 1.52 WHIP on the season. The 23-year-old would likely still be in Triple-A if it wasn't for all the injuries to the Cardinals rotation. Oviedo is lined up to face the Marlins next week.
