by Brad Camara | Twins Correspondent | Wed, Jun 16th 10:50pm EDT

Kansas City Royals pitcher Josh Staumont allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out one across one inning during Wednesday’s 5-4 loss to the Tigers.

Fantasy Impact:

Staumont entered the ninth inning and allowed one run during a relief appearance in Wednesday’s loss. With runners on first and second base, he surrendered an RBI single to Tigers' third baseman Jeimer Candelario. Staumont hasn’t converted a save since May 19 as the Royals haven’t provided the 27-year-old many opportunities. Staumont is currently the Royals closer and worth rostering in all league formats. The Royals reliever owns a 3.38 ERA, 1.24 WHIP, and 29 strikeouts across 26 2/3 innings in 2021.
