Frankie Montas pitched five innings, allowing two runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four in New York’s 3-2 win in Boston on Saturday night.

Montas looked much better this time out despite being pulled after five innings and just 78-pitches. Montas is now 0-1 with a 9.00 ERA, 1.88 WHIP, and six strikeouts in eight innings across two starts since being acquired at the trade deadline. Montas is 4-9 on the season with 3.59 ERA, 1.19 WHIP, and 115 strikeouts in 112 2/3 innings across 21 starts. Montas will make his third start in pinstripes his next time out still looking for his first win when he takes the mound on Thursday against the Blue Jays.
