Steven Matz had a mixed performance on Friday, allowing one earned run on eight hits and striking out two over 4 2/3 innings in the Cardinals' 9-6 victory over the Diamondbacks.
Fantasy Impact:
Despite the high number of hits, Matz managed to limit the damage to just one run, showing some resilience. However, his inability to work deeper into the game and a low strikeout total could be concerning for fantasy managers. Matz remains a viable option in most fantasy formats, but will need to harness his command in hopes of longer outings on the mound as part of a rebuilt rotation for manager Oliver Marmol.
