Aaron Civale struggled in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the White Sox, allowing two earned runs on five hits and two walks while striking out four over 4.2 innings.
Fantasy Impact:
This outing did little to reassure fantasy managers given Civale's ballooning 5.88 ERA and inconsistent performances throughout the season. His strikeout rate remains solid at 9.4 K/9, but his FIP at 4.56 suggests some underlying issues that haven't been fully addressed. Civale's WHIP of 1.35 also indicates that he's allowing too many baserunners, a risky play in fantasy lineups. Owners might consider benching Civale until he shows signs of a turnaround, especially in leagues where ERA and WHIP heavily influence scoring.
