Brett Baty's solo shot not enough in Mets' loss

by Chris Schommer | Mets Correspondent | Sun, May 26th 6:48am EDT

Brett Baty went 1-for-3 with a home run and an RBI in the Mets' 7-2 defeat to the Giants.

Fantasy Impact:

Despite the loss, Baty managed to contribute by sending one over the fence, marking his fourth homer of the season. His performance this year has been less than stellar, with a batting average lingering around .229 and a concerning strikeout rate of .258. While the occasional power display adds some value, his high strikeout numbers and low walk rate (.084) continue to limit his upside in fantasy formats. Owners should view Baty as a risky play, dependent on matchups and in need of showing more consistency at the plate to be a reliable fantasy asset.
