Madison Bumgarner only has two quality starts in his last five starts, allowing four or more runs in three of those starts. Bumgarner is 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in September, striking out 19 batters in 12 innings. He has a 14-8 record and 2.61 ERA this season and will face the Padres at home on September 14.
Fantasy Impact:
Bumgarner is still a top SP, but has seen his ERA jump from 2.09 on July 27 to his current 2.61. He does have nine strikeouts in consecutive starts, his second such streak of the season. Current Padres' batters have a .736 OPS in 134 career at-bats against Bumgarner and he has a 8-3 record and 1.91 ERA at home this season.
