Adrian Peterson lands with Saints

ESPN's Josina Anderson is reporting free agent running back Adrian Peterson "plans" to sign a two-year, $7 million deal with the New Orleans Saints Tuesday. (Josina Anderson on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Two days before the start of the NFL Draft, Peterson and the Saints have agreed to terms on a deal that he is expected to sign later in the day. “I am excited to be joining the New Orleans Saints," Peterson said early Tuesday morning. "I’m really looking forward to this opportunity." The 32-year-old running back, whose garnered limited interest on the open market, will likely join the Saints as Mark Ingram's primary backup for the 2017 season. Despite his presumed position on the depth chart, he should still have an expanded role in the offense. From a fantasy perspective, view Peterson in the low-end RB2 tier for the upcoming campaign. His value would grow, however, if Ingram, whose missed 18 career games, is sidelined at any point during the season.
