Michael Floyd could still be cut

by Anthony Cervino | Fri, Jul 14th 7:38am EDT

Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer told the media that he informed wide receiver Michael Floyd he will be released if he is lying about his kombucha tea defense. “Do I believe it? I don’t know how much tea he drank. I have no clue,” Zimmer said via the Pioneer Press. “I don’t have any doubt why there’d be skepticism, but he told me that he wasn’t (drinking). That it was legit." Later adding, “I said, ‘If I find out you’re lying to me, I’m going to cut you.'" (TwinCities.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Although the Vikings publicly announced they were behind Floyd and his recovery following his recent one day stint in jail for failing a breathalyzer while on house arrest for a DWI charge in 2016, Zimmer came out and said he would release the troubled wideout if he is lying about his defense. This is a situation worth monitoring for the remainder of the offseason as Floyd could maintain a key role in the Vikings' passing game if he remains on the club for the 2017 season. He'll likely compete with Laquan Treadwell for the WR3 spot on the depth chart.
