David Njoku planning to play Monday against NY Giants

by Mark Leipold | Browns Correspondent | Wed, Aug 16th 12:25pm EDT

Patrick Maks, staff writer for the Cleveland Browns, is reporting that rookie TE David Njoku is planning to play in Monday's preseason game against the Giants. Njoku missed the first preseason game with a back issue that is not believed to be serious. (Patrick Maks on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

This is a good sign for Njoku. He seemed to be having a good camp minus a few ball security issues in the form of fumbles, which he addressed head on. Njoku seems to be in line for the top TE job despite some buzz about Seth DeValve. DeValve will most likely be the second TE and should see more blocking work while Njoku is used as the primary pass catcher from the TE position. Njoku is still off the redraft radar unless you are in a deep league or play two TEs, but is a highly coveted dynasty target in rookie drafts.
