C.J. Anderson strong in 2017 debut

by Mark Leipold | Tue, Sep 12th 12:19pm EDT

C.J. Anderson had a strong performance in Week 1 of 2017 against the Chargers, but failed to find the end zone. Anderson carried the ball 20 times for 81 yards, with a long of 18 yards. He was targeted three times and caught one ball for 7 more yards.

Fantasy Impact:

This was a good performance for Anderson , as he received the workload owners will want. Jamaal Charles was sprinkled in, but Anderson was clearly the lead back. His 4.1 yards per carry isn't spectacular, but was higher than Charles and is right around the Broncos team average for recent years. Anderson also received three carries inside the 5 yard line, including a goal line carry, but was stuffed. Anderson should be a pretty steady RB2 moving forward if he stays healthy, which has always been a knock on him.
