Marshon Lattimore struggles with conditioning in return Thursday night

by Gary VanDyke | Saints Correspondent | Fri, Dec 8th 11:31am EST

Lattimore had missed some time with an ankle injury that cost him being in game shape versus Atlanta. He spent much of the second half on the sidelines receiving oxygen and missing out on defensive snaps. He was tasked to cover Julio Jones the entire contest and it was clear that he was struggling to do so by being a little out of shape. He did record an interception on a poorly thrown ball meant to Jones by Matt Ryan, but he didn't actually shut Jones down in this contest that New Orleans loss. Lattimore also added three combined tackles and a nice pass breakup.

Fantasy Impact:

Lattimore was put to the test versus Jones and for the most part, showed some shutdown abilities that he has been displaying before. Lattimore will have a chance to get back into game shape and display more of those traits in Week 15. When he does he will not be a suggested IDP play. Quarterbacks avoid shutdown cornerbacks unless your throwing to a Julio Jones type.
