The Minnesota Vikings claimed RB Ben Tate on Wednesday, releasing TE MarQueis Gray in the process. Tate is owed roughly $353,000 for the rest of the season, according to Brian Hall of Fox Sports North. He is signed through 2015, but can be cut after this season. (Fox Sports North)

Fantasy Impact:

In his first season in Cleveland, Tate has amassed 333 yards and 4 TDs on 106 carries. His best game came back in the first week of October when he rushed for 124 yards on 22 carries. He's averaged just 3.1 YPC this season and isn't anything more than a RB3/RB4 with Jerick McKinnon and Matt Asiata in Minnesota. Tate's exit from the Browns is worrisome, but the Vikings are looking for a No. 2 RB behind McKinnon for next season.
