Demario Davis a part of New Orleans linebacker rotation

Newly signed Demario Davis is now firmly a part of the New Orleans Saints linebacker rotation. When linebackers coach Mike Nolan was asked about who would be the starting linebackers for the season he was quoted as saying, “We don’t even know. Every day is a new day, sometimes I say we could go this way, we could go that way. Just hopefully more than anything else we stay healthy, so they’re all playing. That will be great because if they are all playing, then we’ll be rotating them.”. Reportedly the most common grouping of linebackers so has A.J. Klein on the strong side, Manti Te’o in the middle and Davis on the weak side. And in sub packages, which is what most defenses use 70 percent of the time, Klein and Davis have been the main two linebackers to stay on the field. (theadvocate.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Overall for IDP owners, this sounds exactly like what New Orleans rolled out in 2017. And as of right now that second-year man Alex Anzalone may be in jeopardy of being the fourth linebacker in the mix. But this is still a fluid situation and one that IDP owners will want to monitor. And with the recent history of how they deploy their linebackers and the statements made by linebacker coach Mike Nolan, IDP owners may want to secure players in a more secure situation for their starting lineups on a weekly basis. If Davis and Klein do remain in the fold as the main linebackers and can change the injury history of the team's linebackers while staying on the field in the sub packages they would offer the most potential for IDP production among the group.
