ESPN's Adam Schefter is reporting the Carolina Panthers expect QB Cam Newton (shoulder) to be ready for the 2019 season. (Adam Schefter on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Newton underwent arthroscopic shoulder surgery last month to repair an injury suffered during the course of the 2018 season. And while there were rumors suggesting that the ailing signal caller could be shut down for the 2019 campaign, it seems like they could be far from the truth. Not only did NFL Network's Ian Rapoport report last night that Newton is "hoping" to resume throwing by OTAs, but now Schefter is stating that the Panthers expect Newton to be "ready for the start of the 2019 NFL regular season." As of this writing, the belief is that Newton is "on track to be ready to go at some point this summer," which could mean that Newton may not very active for spring activities.
