Fantasy Impact:

Adams wants a deal in place before the 2020 season commences, while the Jets prefer to wait on a long-term extension, sources said. Adams and his camp remain adamant about getting a deal done before the season and are reportedly becoming tired of the Jets “dragging their feet.” A multitude of teams have contacted the Jets regarding the All-Pro safety, but it’s unknown just how serious those trade talks are. The team picked up Adams’ fifth-year option which keeps him under team control the next two seasons. Between having two more years under contract and the current league conditions with coronavirus, it’s understandable why the Jets might want to wait on a long-term extension with Adams. That being said, he’s one of, if not their best player, and deserves to be rewarded as such. Adams is currently skipping the Jets voluntary virtual off-season activities while contract talks have stalled.
