Reed was placed on the injured reserve Monday and could be out of action for six-to-eight weeks. “Reed’s knee sprain is serious enough it could keep him out six-to-eight weeks,” said 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan. The veteran TE exited Sunday’s Week 3 contest against the Giants early with a knee injury. With Reed out and star TE George Kittle banged up, look Ross Dwelley to see an expanded role.
