Bengals wide receiver John Ross recently approached the team about trading him ahead of the league's trade deadline, according to a report from NFL insider Mike Garafolo. Garafolo adds that Ross's agent confirmed that they have inquired about a trade but that those discussions have not gone very far as of yet. (Mike Garafolo on Twitter)
Ross is a former first round pick but has just two receptions for 17 yards while playing in three of the team's six games this season. In Week 6, he played exactly one snap on offense. He is still just 24 years old and boasts elite speed, but his production in Cincinnati has been inconsistent at best through his first four seasons. He is a free agent after the 2020 season.
