Jimmy Garoppolo to remain with 49ers unless team takes a 'big swing'

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN reports that barring a significant upgrade, Jimmy Garoppolo will remain the 49ers' starting quarterback in 2021. (Boston.com)

“They believe they can win with [Garoppolo], but it would take a big swing, like a Deshaun Watson effect here, to make that change,” Fowler said on SportsCenter over the weekend. For now, the Texans are intent on keeping Watson in Houston, so the NFL world should tentatively plan for Garoppolo to remain in San Francisco. With a healthy George Kittle, Deebo Samuel, and Brandon Aiyuk at his disposal, "Jimmy G" could be a streaming option at times in fantasy come 2021.
