Darnell Mooney expected to play in Week 1

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting Bears WR Darnell Mooney (back) is expected to play in Week 1. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

The Bears are light at receiver and can't afford Mooney to sit and he won't. Despite dealing with a back injury, Mooney is in line to play in the season opener against the Rams. In the past three games between the Rams and Bears -- they have faced off in each of the past three seasons since 2018 -- the total has failed to surpass 34 points, which does not bode well for the over or overall fantasy production. Per reports, the Rams are not going to let Jalen Ramsey shadow Allen Robinson, which could mean Mooney will see him too. But on plays Mooney isn't locked up with Ramsey, he could see opportunities to break off a big play. Mooney could be used in the Flex spot, but if you have better options, it would be wise to use them. Last year versus the Rams, Mooney went for a pedestrian 3/40/0 line.
