Jeff Wilson Jr. comes through with a big game

by Jon Mathisen | Dolphins Correspondent | Sun, Dec 19th 7:24pm EST

San Francisco 49ers running back Jeff Wilson Jr. carried the ball 21 times for 110 yards and. rushing sore while adding two catches (on two targets) for nine yards in a 31-13 win over the Falcons on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact:

Wilson Jr. had put up some disappointing performances the last few weeks in the absence of Elijah Mitchell (concussion) but that was not the case in this one. The backup running back averaged a rock-solid 5.2 yards a clip and added a five-yard toughdown late in the third quarter to give the 49ers a two-score lead. Wilson Jr. added two grabs for nine yards as well. Due to his lackluster performances in the past, it's unlikely that Wilson Jr. was started on many fantasy playoff teams but he certainly rewarded those who stuck with him. Mitchell should be good to go for next week's game against the Titans, which will relegate Wilson Jr. back to a reserve role.
