Jonnu Smith catches one pass in preseason finale

Jonnu Smith hauled in his lone target for five yards against the Raiders on Friday evening. New England ultimately fell to Las Vegas by a score of 23-6.
Fantasy Impact:
Smith signed a big contract ahead of the 2021 season but massively underwhelmed in his first season with New England, serving as the clear backup option behind Hunter Henry. Smith was then inactive for last week's preseason game before offering very little production in the preseason finale. With that said, Mac Jones completed 25 passes to Jonnu Smith during training camp. The only player to whom he completed more passes was Jakobi Meyers (41). The duo has formed a steady rapport, but it remains to be seen if this connection will carry over into the regular season. Fantasy managers should exercise caution and view Smith as a low-end TE3 in 2022.
