C.J. Spiller could be a roster casualty

by Steve Maro | Tue, Jul 26th 4:12pm EDT

The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports that New Orleans Saints RB C.J. Spiller isn’t a guarantee to make the Saints opening day roster. The six-year veteran played his first five seasons with the Buffalo Bills and signed with the Saints last off-season. Despite many predictions that the Saints would use Spiller the same way they used Reggie Bush and Darren Sproles, Spiller was rarely used. In fact, when starting RB Mark Ingram was sidelined for the season, the Saints handed the starting job to RB Tim Hightower, who was signed much later than Spiller. Ingram and Hightower are clearly one and two on the depth chart at this point. (New Orleans Times-Picayune)

Fantasy Impact:

Many people forget, but Spiller’s last relevant fantasy season was 2012. Since then, Spiller has done nothing but disappoint. Regardless of where he ends up, I would consider Spiller undraftable, even in the deepest leagues.
