Joe Flacco sets a franchise record for completions

by Pat Lenihan | Colts Correspondent | Tue, Dec 13th 11:10am EST

Joe Flacco completed 37-of-52 passes for 324 yards, two touchdowns and one interception in the Ravens’ Week 14 loss to the Patriots on Monday night.

Fantasy Impact:

Joe Flacco’s numbers look good, but don’t let them fool you. Flacco found it tough sailing in this one and was unable to move the ball down the field having to settled for his check-down options on a majority of his drop backs. The 37 completions are a franchise record, but if it wasn’t for a muffed punt by Cyrus Jones and a fumble on the ensuing kickoff by Mathew Slater that set Flacco and the Baltimore offense up in the red zone, the Ravens may not have ever found pay dirt in this game. Despite the underwhelming performance, Flacco has thrown six touchdowns and has gone for over 300 yards passing in back-to-back games and will be low end QB2 in Week 15 against the Eagles. However there should be better options available.
