Clayton Kershaw allowed six hits, one earned run, walked one, and struck out seven in seven innings Tuesday against the San Francisco Giants. 66-of-90 pitches were thrown for strikes.
Fantasy Impact:
The third inning encapsulated the greatness of Kershaw. He allowed a lead-off double, then a single. With runners on first and third, no outs, and the game scoreless, he proceeded to strike out the next two batters. He did allow a single to plate the game's first run, but Kershaw then dominated the rest of the game. He is now sporting a 2.29 ERA, 0.79 WHIP, and has struck out 39 batters in 35 1/3 innings. Kershaw is next scheduled to face the Phillies, a team that ranks 14th in OPS against LHP.
