Steven Matz allowed three runs over five innings against the A's on Friday. He gave up nine hits and struck out five. He did not factor into the decision.
Fantasy Impact:
This was an "improvement" for Matz, who had gotten blasted in his previous two outings, but it's a far cry from how he had been pitching earlier in the season. He does have a pillow-soft matchup against the Padres on Wednesday, so his owners may want to give him one last chance before cutting him.
