Kenley Jansen blows another save opportunity

by Matthew Davis | Red Sox Correspondent | Wed, Apr 18th 9:29am EDT

Kenley Jansen was called upon in the ninth inning with a two-run lead against the Padres on Tuesday night. Jansen's blown save was provided by an Eric Hosmer home run and a walk to Franchy Cordero that lead to the game being tied on a Chase Headley double.

Fantasy Impact:

Jansen only allowed one blown save in 42 chances last season. This is already his second blown save of the season. His velocity continues to be down, allowing a 38.1% hard hit rate. Fantasy owners that invested in Jansen are having early season regrets. Let this be a premature 2019 reminder to not invest this high in closers.
