Francisco Cervelli drives in a run during loss to the Padres

by Ryan Orndorff | Sun, May 20th 10:58pm EDT

Francisco Cervelli hit a sacrifice fly to score Josh Harrison on Sunday. He also drew a walk in the loss to San Diego.

Fantasy Impact:

Cervelli did not have a hit in the three games prior to Sunday’s loss to the Padres, but did manage to draw a walk and hit the ball well enough to score Harrison on a sacrifice fly. It seemed possible that he was still suffering some lingering affects after being hit by a pitch on the forearm, but it does not look to be serious. He has still managed to get on base via the walk when he goes hitless. While his average has dropped in May, he is still hitting .278 on the year with six home runs, one shy of his career high. At a very shallow position, he is producing like a top five catcher.
