Shane Bieber gets clobbered by the Red Sox

by Carmen Maiorano | Guardians Correspondent | Sat, Sep 22nd 9:02am EDT

Shane Bieber was used as the second reliever in Friday's game against the Red Sox after Trevor Bauer started the game and Dan Otero cleaned up his mess. Bieber allowed six runs on eight hits and two walks, which was surprising given the Red Sox "skeleton" lineup after clinching the AL East. This rough appearance dropped his record to 10-5.

Fantasy Impact:

Bieber better get used to pitching out of the bullpen, as the plan is for Bauer to start in the playoffs. Bieber will likely follow after Bauer in their next outing on Wednesday against the White Sox. Bieber now has a 4.80 ERA, 1.37 WHIP, and 109 Ks in 108 2/3 innings.
