Sandy Alcantara allows seven runs in loss to Twins

by Mike Maher | Marlins Correspondent | Thu, Aug 1st 9:47am EDT

Marlins starting pitcher Sandy Alcantara allowed seven earned runs on six hits and five walks while striking out five over 4 2/3 innings in Wednesday's loss to the Twins. The loss drops him to 4-10 on the season.

Fantasy Impact:

Alcantara pitched well enough in the first half of the season to make the All-Star game, but he now has a 7.89 ERA in the second half, with opponents batting an even .300 against him. He is trending in the wrong direction but will try to turn things around when he takes on the Mets in New York in his next start.
