The Mariners have elected to shut Kikuchi down for a week for maintenance purposes. Since he doesn’t have any physical issues, he shouldn’t face any restrictions with his pitch count. Kikuchi is coming off his best start of the season, where he threw a complete game shutout against the Blue Jays last Sunday. He will look to build on his dominant performance when he faces the Yankees on Tuesday.
