Greg Holland shuts the door on Cleveland for first save

by Jon Mathisen | Sat, Jul 25th 8:18pm EDT

Greg Holland struck out three across one inning to notch his first save of 2020 in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Indians.

Fantasy Impact:

This game went into the extra innings and the Royals were able to get a run across in the top of the 10th. Holland entered the bottom of the frame protecting the one-run lead and a runner on second per the new extra innings rule. Holland first beaned Bradley Zimmer to start the inning but was unfazed as he managed to whiff Cesar Hernandez, Jose Ramirez, and Francisco Lindor to end the game. Ian Kennedy was slated to be the Royals closer this year but he pitched two innings earlier in the game. This could be a fluid closer situation and definitely one to monitor even if there won't be many save opportunities in Kansas City this year.
