Chris Sale, who is recovering from Tommy John surgery, was placed on the 60-day IL as a procedural move to clear a roster spot for reliever John Schreiber, whom Boston just claimed off waivers. (Chris Cotillo on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Sale likely won't be available to pitch for the Red Sox until May or June as he underwent Tommy John surgery last March. This was just a procedural move to clear roster space.
