Free agent third baseman Maikel Franco is drawing interest from multiple teams. The New York Mets are in on the "derby," according to Jon Heyman of MLB Network. (Jon Heyman on Twitter)

Heyman also reported earlier that the Orioles were also showing an interest in the free agent third baseman. It would make sense that the Mets are now interested given the recent injury to Jose Martinez. Franco had a resurgent 2020 season with the Royals when he batted .278/.321/.457 with 16 doubles, eight home runs, and 38 RBI over 223 at-bats. His market has been heating up and he should latch on somewhere shortly.
