LHP Madison Bumgarner took the loss on Monday when he surrendered six runs on seven hits with three walks and five strikeouts over 4 2/3 innings in a 9-5 loss to the Athletics.
Fantasy Impact:
Bumgarner's rocky start to the season continued against the A's on Monday. He's now allowed six, five, and six earned runs in his three starts this year. Mad Bum has looked like a shadow of his former self this season with an ugly 11.20 ERA, 2.20 WHIP, and 15:8 K/BB ratio over 13 2/3 innings. He's not a recommended fantasy play on the road vs. the Nationals in his next start. Even if you still own him in a season-long league, he should be benched until you see signs of improvement.
