Daulton Varsho called up to the majors on Wednesday

Diamondbacks prospect Daulton Varsho was called up to the big leagues on Wednesday. With Kole Calhoun and Taylor Widener going on the IL, there was enough roster space to give the highly touted prospect the promotion. (Zach Buchanan on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
The interesting thing here is that although Varsho is primarily a catcher, with the absence of Calhoun, there are talks of Varsho playing the outfield. This would be intriguing for fantasy managers because the flexibility of having a catcher and outfield eligible player is not easy to come by. He did not have a ton of success in 2020 with his limited 46 plate appearances, but it remains to be seen how the bat will play in 2021.
