Yu Darvish gave up 2 earned runs in 5.2 innings pitched in the Padres' win over the Pirates on Wednesday. Darvish struck out 8 and walked 1 in the outing.
Fantasy Impact:
Darvish had another solid outing on Wednesday, and was only one out away from a quality start. Darvish now has a 2.27 ERA on the season, and has proven to be one of the best pitchers in the NL. The only concern is Darvish's walk rate, which is up from last year. That being said, his walk rate is about in line with his career average, so it's more likely that last year's low walk rate was an outlier and he is returning to the mean this year. Darvish has shown enough this year for fantasy managers to be comfortable starting him in just about every matchup.
