Outfielder Austin Slater went 1-for-1 with a three-run homer as the Giants lost to the Padres 7-6 on Thursday.

Slater didn't start this game and entered in the sixth inning as a pinch-hitter. He got the job done in a big way, swatting a three-run homer off Tim Hill to give the Giants a 5-4 lead. The 28-year-old outfielder is slashing .232/.314/.408 with 11 home runs, 31 RBI, and 15 stolen bases over 267 at-bats this season.
