Paul DeJong optioned to Triple-A Memphis

Paul DeJong was optioned to Triple-A on Tuesday. Rookie infielder Nolan Gorman will replace him on the Cardinals' roster. (Katie Woo on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
DeJong has struggled at the plate the past few seasons. This year, he's posting a .130/.209/.208 line with only one HR and seven RBI. Tommy Edman figures to see the bulk of the work at shortstop in the interim. DeJong is an excellent defensive shortstop with a powerful bat. If he can find his hitting stroke in the minors, he may be back with the Cardinals later this summer.
