Daulton Jefferies, who was placed on the IL on Friday with nerve irritation in his right arm, has been diagnosed with thoracic-outlet syndrome. (Matt Kawahara on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Jefferies is going for a second opinion, but the diagnosis is obviously a blow to his long-term future assuming that it's confirmed. Thoracic-outlet syndrome has derailed the careers of many pitchers, Matt Harvey chief among them, so all managers can do at this point is hope for the best. Jefferies had a 5.72 ERA this year and was 1-7, so he wasn't much of an option and can be dropped in all formats. Those in dynasty leagues should hold for the time being.
