Christian Bethancourt swipes bag Tuesday

by Andersen Pickard | Marlins Correspondent | Tue, Aug 16th 11:30pm EDT

Rays catcher Christian Bethancourt went 0-for-3 against the Yankees on Tuesday evening. However, he did reach on an error in the fourth inning, then proceeded to steal second base off the battery of Nestor Cortes and Jose Trevino. Tampa Bay ultimately defeated New York by a score of 3-1.

Fantasy Impact:

Bethancourt is slashing .232/.275/.355 with five homers, 21 RBI, 11 walks, and 54 strikeouts this season. He has also swiped five bags on six attempts. The 30-year-old is decent on the basepaths, but he doesn't see enough playing time nor produce enough power to generate any fantasy intrigue.
