Sterling Shepard

Sterling Shepard with only 23 receiving yards in Week 2

by Nick Ritrivi | Tue, Sep 19th 8:39am EDT

Sterling Shepard managed just 23 yards on two receptions in the Giants' rancid 24-10 loss to the Lions on Monday night. He added seven yards on the ground, on two carries, in this latest Giants egg. Shepard was targeted just four times in what was another very questionable Giants game plan, particularly after the Lions took a two-TD lead in the fourth quarter.

Fantasy Impact:

Despite the low productivity in Week 2, Shepard still remains a decent WR3/Flex option in deeper formats. He managed to outperform Brandon Marshall and appears to be the Giants' most reliable WR option after Odell Beckham. The Giants face the Eagles in Week 3 and game flow will likely dictate that the Giants take to the air later in this game which could result in numerous targets to Shepard.
