Jarvis Landry signs mega-extension

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport is reporting that the Browns and Jarvis Landry have agreed on a contract extension over five years worth $75.5 million with $47 million guaranteed. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Landry was reportedly seeking around the $18 million per year mark, but I'm sure he'll take the massive pay-day. His contract has more guarantees than any other wide receiver in the league, including Mike Evans' $38.3 million that was just given to him not long ago. Needless to say, this was great work by Landry's agent. After averaging over 140 targets per year with the Dolphins, Landry's volume is going to drop with the Browns, who appear to be building a run-first team around Tyrod Taylor and Carlos Hyde in 2018. If they are, in-fact, drafting Josh Allen at No. 1 overall, Landry's skill-set doesn't exactly match his cannon arm. We're still expecting the Browns to take Sam Darnold with the No. 1 overall pick, which would be good news for Landry. Still, he's not likely to finish inside the top-20 fantasy receivers this year unless something drastically changes with their skill-position players.
