Newton can participate fully in QB drills at the Panthers three-day minicamp this week, but he has not yet been cleared to participate in team drills. Newton’s outlook is trending up after an offseason arthroscopic procedure on his injured throwing shoulder. He last played in Week 15 of last season, turning in a dismal performance while playing through the injury and ultimately sitting out the final two weeks. Under new offensive coordinator Norv Turner, Newton turned in the highest completion of his career at 67.9 and ranked as the overall QB5 through the first 14 weeks of the 2018 season. His rehab seems to be going much better than expected, boding well for his fantasy prospects in 2019.
