Yannick Ngakoue ends holdout, reports to training camp

by Alex Johnson | Bears Correspondent | Mon, Aug 5th 12:03am EDT

Jaguars pass-rusher Yannick Ngakoue ended his holdout and reported to training camp Sunday. He had missed the first eight days in hopes of reaching an agreement on a contract extension. Instead, he will play the season on the final year of his rookie deal. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter )

Fantasy Impact:

Ngakoue had to report to camp by Tuesday in order to be credited with an accrued season in 2019, therefore his holdout for a new contract is over. Of course, he would still like to get a new contract but that doesn’t seem likely at this point in time. Unless an extension is agreed to, the Jaguars will have a decision to make between using the franchise tag on Ngakoue in 2020 or letting him walk in free agency. Ngakoue has recorded 29.5 sacks and 10 forced fumbles through his first three seasons.
