Zach Ertz reportedly turned down huge offer from Philadelphia last season

Per Mike Silver on NFL Network, Eagles TE Zach Ertz turned down a deal from Philadelphia during the season that was reportedly more lucrative than Austin Hooper’s new four-year, $44M deal. (Tucker Bagley on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Interesting. A lot of speculation could come from news of this nature, or Ertz was simply betting on himself to have a monster season with the Eagles. He’s looking at a big contract after this upcoming year with Philadelphia or another team, but either way, Ertz will more than likely set the market for tight ends in the NFL. With Dallas Goedert also performing at a high level in Philadelphia, it’s definitely possible the Eagles put Ertz on the trade block before giving him a big contract.
