It was recently reported that Cam Newton “no way” signed with any NFL team as a backup. He has changed his tune and is open to backup role as long as it’s with the right team. Newton (foot) will continue to rehab and try to latch onto another club. A few teams that have rumored to sign Newton are the Patriots, Steelers and Jaguars. Cam passed his physical and both his foot and shoulder “checked out well.” The 30-year-old is currently 35th among all quarterbacks in the latest expert consensus rankings.
