According to a well-placed source, the San Francisco 49ers are expected to announce Friday that they have signed TE George Kittle to a massive six-year, $94.8M contract extension. (Grant Cohn on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

It’ll be $15.8M per year for Kittle, who will receive $47.4M guaranteed with a $25M signing bonus. He surpasses Austin Hooper ($10.5M/yr) as the highest paid TE in the NFL. The former 2017 5th-round draft choice out of Iowa has wildly outperformed expectations and has put himself in a tier with Chiefs TE Travis Kelce from a production standpoint. With his blocking ability and unique skill set that affects all facets of the game, Kittle might just be the best all-round tight end in the league. He’s a consensus top-2 TE no matter how you slice it, and should be counted on to provide at least another few years of very high-level production.
