Austin Ekeler still expected to miss 4-6 weeks after second opinion

Chargers RB Austin Ekeler (hamstring) received a second opinion on his injury from Week 4 and is still on course to miss four to six weeks.

Fantasy Impact:

No surgical procedure is required, so Ekeler will be in full-blown rehab mode until he returns to the field in hopefully a little over a month. The Chargers are likely to put him on IR ahead of Week 5 to open up a roster spot and potentially bring in another RB as insurance. The team worked out Kalen Ballage, but it’ll be Joshua Kelley and Justin Jackson leading the way out of the backfield for the Chargers while Ekeler is out. Both Kelley and Jackson make for intriguing fantasy options. Kelley has seen more carries this season, but Jackson has been hurt most of the year. Expect some sort of time share between the two backs for the next four to six weeks in Ekeler’s absence.
