Sterling Shepard

Sterling Shepard (toe) officially active for Thursday Night Football

by Mike Maher | Thu, Oct 22nd 6:42pm EDT

Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard, who has missed the team’s last four games with a toe injury, is officially active for the team’s matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday Night Football. Shepard was activated off injured reserve earlier in the day on Thursday and had been considered a game-time decision. (Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Through his first two games, Shepard had just eight receptions for 76 yards and no touchdowns. The New York offense has struggled as a whole, but the Eagles do not exactly boast a strong pass defense. With Darius Slay expected to follow Darius Slayton for much of the evening, it’s possible that Shepard finds some openings in the Philadelphia secondary if the Giants’ offensive line is able to protect quarterback Daniel Jones.
